Co-Working Is Catching On and Even The Biggest Introvert Can Do It!
Co-working does not require socializing. It's a proven effective productivity tool and focus strategy (especially for neurodivergent people) Also known as "body doubling" - it simply means that you work or do any kind of task in the presence of another person who is doing their own thing too.

Why I Started This Online Community
As someone with AuDHD, who works alone from home, I need accountability, and stimulation to make sure that I end up doing what I intend to do when I sit down to write.
I've used many co-working websites but nothing ever quite fit or felt like it was a familiar community. Especially sites that allow for audio check-ins. I spent half my session dreading that when the 75 minutes was up, the other person would interrupt my flow to tell me about what they got done and want me to do the same. The sessions were never longer than 90 minutes and it always seemed to end just when I was hitting my stride.
I decided to make the thing that I needed and I'm so grateful to my podcast listeners who jumped right in with me to get this going. We enjoy longer sessions (with the freedom to come and go as you please), with familiar faces, and a message board area where we can set goals, celebrate what we got done, and chit chat about our neurodivergent lives.
My co-work community is a 24/7 online body-doubling space for neurodivergent people.
I personally host anywhere from 1-3 sessions a day, seven days a week. When I'm not hosting a session, the space is open for anyone in the community to keep working with one another.

Testimonials from Co-Work Community Members
Julie
"Jen clearly cares so much about the community that she's building. I can't imagine not having co-working as a resource in my life now."
Kris
"Body doubling is the best! I don't know why it works, but it does. I've found myself anxiously awaiting the next session, but I don't need to do that anymore with the 24/7 room. Now if only it would inspire me to clean my house as much as it's helped me get other work done."
Andrea
"I have a very stubborn brain, and self-imposed accountability just does not work for me. Having a place to check in with a group of people to quietly work alongside has been so helpful. I spend way less time getting stuck on my phone. Looking up at the meeting room or checking in with the chat gives me the same little hit without sucking me into the black hole of the internet. "
Eli
"When my schedule is flexible, I use my body doubling commitments to superimpose structure on my time. When my day is rigid, I go into the body double space as a way of shifting from one project to another. This keeps my work day from turning into a boundaryless, multitasking slop."
How Co-Working Online Works
There are 4 steps. That's it!
1
Check Schedule
Find a hosted session that fits your day if you want a scheduled co-work session. RSVP and you'll get an automatic meeting reminder emailed to you.
2
Click Into Zoom
Join the Zoom Room, & you don't have to be "on time." There's just one link to use per month. You don't need your own paid Zoom account to join.
3
Do Your Thing!
Mute your microphone, keep your camera on. (Or keep it off if you're feeling shy). Use the chat area to type in your session goals if you want and...work!
4
Log Off & Live Life!
You don't have to stay for the entire structured session. Come & go as you wish. Then hit "leave meeting" when you go, no need to alert anyone or wave goodbye.
And the 5th step is joining up!

3 Ways Co-Working Is Proven To Work! Yes, Even Online
There's actual research behind why this works.
A Starting Cue
One of the hardest parts of working is beginning. The presence of other people doing their own work cues your nervous system to shift into an easy sense of safety to begin.
Saying It = Doing It
You are 65% more likely to actually do the thing that you've sat down to do, if you set the intention, like typing your session goal into the chat box. It's called, "Implementation Intention."
Motivated By Momentum
The "social facilitation effect" is real. It means that the presence of other people raises your engagement, focus, and sense of purpose. And if other people have momentum, that's contagious!
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about joining The Co-Work Community
Do I have to have my camera on?
No. Camera on or off, no biggie. If you're meditating, eating, moving around, or just feeling shy, turn your camera off, no explanation needed.
Do I have to watch other people? Is it rude if I don't?
You're not here to observe anyone. You've got your own things to do. Minimize the window, look at your own screen, and work in your own world. The point is just knowing that other people are there. You don't need to actively keep an eye on them.
What if I am late to the hosted session?
Come whenever works for you and leave when you're done. I don't go by neurotypical rules here. There is no late.
Do I have to follow the theme of the session if there is one?
No, the themes are there for people who might need some inspiration. If it fits what you're doing, great. If not, you do you.
Do I need to be neurodivergent to join?
No, everyone is welcome, neurotypical and neurodivergent alike. You can even be self-diagnosed neurodivergent. The community grew out of my Patreon subscribers and me starting to work together, but anyone who needs other people to motivate is welcome.
When are the sessions that you host?
I host a couple of sessions per day on weekdays basically within the hours of 7am-8pm (est) depending on my schedule that month. But the more people who join, means the more people will be available at your chosen time! And I do take requests for when people want sessions. I even host on 2 Saturday mornings, 2 Sunday mornings and 2 Sunday evenings per month.
Do I Need A Paid Zoom Account?
You do not need a paid Zoom account. You just need the free Zoom app on desktop or your phone to join. That's it.
